1418093 Borosilicate opal glass SOC DES VERRERIES INDUSTRIELLES REUNIES DU LOING 2 May 1973 [3 May 1972] 20866/73 Addition to 1000062 Heading C1M A borosilicate opal glass which is opaque or strongly opalescent has a coefficient of thermal expansion from 25 to 40 x 10<SP>-7</SP> per ‹C. between 0‹ and 300‹ C. and consists essentially of the following constituents (per cent by weight): 70-76 SiO 2 , 11À5-13À5 B 2 O 3 , 7À5-10 ZnO, 2À2-3À3 BaO, and 1À7-2À05 Na 2 O. Other components may be present in total up to about 3% by weight, e.g. 0À8% TiO, 0À08-0À09% ZrO 2 , 0À02-0À03% Fe 2 O 3 , 0À05-0À5% Al 2 O 3 . Comparative-examples disclose specific compositions containing, in per cent by weight: 71À8-73À8 SiO 2 , 12-14À3 B 2 O 3 , 7À15-10À6 ZnO, 0-3À7 BaO, 0-0À95 Li 2 O, 1À9-3À2% Na 2 O, 0-0À8 TiO 2 , 0-0À05 Al 2 O 3 , 0-1À35 ZrO 2 and 0-0À04 Fe 2 O 3 .
