Clutches, friction.--A material for friction clutch facing consists of " " fibre-asbestos " or asbestos fibres too short to be used in spinning, saturated with a binder such as an asphaltic compound or vegetable or mineral oil or gum, or a derivative therefrom or a mixture thereof, the material being moulded wet to the required shape and dried, with or without heat. Copper, brass, or other metal rings 11 or wire mesh may be inserted, or short lengths of wire may be mixed with the fibre. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), asbestos fibres in general or fibres other than of asbestos may be used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
