Abstract
508,159. Fabrics. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Sept. 9, 1938, No. 26351. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1937. [Class 142 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXXIV, IV, V, and VIII] A brake shoe 7 having a layei 13 of conventional friction ma. terial has a layer 15 of fibrous glass, which may be woven, between the shoe and the friction material. Or, a brake shoe has a friction layer consisting of glass fibres woven into a fabric. A binder such as colloidal lead, a resinous compound or a condensation product may be used with the glass fibres or fabric and strands of metal may be added. Asbestos may be associated with the woven glass. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the glass fibres in the friction layer 13 may comprise fibrous glass. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted..
