Abstract

1416986 Boats LEIGH & VALE PRODUCTS Ltd 9 Feb 1973 [10 Nov 1971] 52121/71 Heading B7A A plastics boat is made in two detachable halves 12 which are individually watertight so that jointing problems are avoided and which can be used to form a container for carriage on the roof rack of a car. When forming a boat, the two halves are held together by pins 34 which engage bores 36 in projections 28 to hold them in recesses 39. The pins also hold a seat 41 in place. Another seat 24 can be located by engagement with longitudinal buoyancy chambers 21. A duckboard may be formed of slats 27 joined to flexible strips 26 so that the duckboard can be rolled up. One of the halves may be provided with external buoyancy chambers joined by a board 47 (Fig. 8) for supporting an outboard motor. When forming the container, the boat halves are secured together by padlocked pins. Fig. 7 (not shown), which engage rings 53. The boat halves are formed with external grooves which, when the container is used on a car, are engaged by roof rack bars 56 and securing cords 57.
