Abstract

1416768 Recovery of metal ions using comenic esters DAIICHI SEIYAKU CO Ltd 12 April 1973 17768/73 Heading C2C [Also in Division C1] A method of removing metal ions from aqueous solution which comprises contacting aqueous liquid containing metal ions with a solution of comenic ester in a hydrophobic solvent. The metal ions removable by this process consist of one or more of the following metals Fe, Cu, Cd, Pb, Ni, Co, Zn, Au, Pt, Al, Sb, Bi, Sn, Cr, Y and U. The following esters of comenic acid can be used: alkyl, with not less than 3 C atoms, aralkyl or cycloalkyl. The chelate compounds of divalent metal ions (M) may have the structure where R is alkyl or arylalkyl.
