Abstract

1416021 Shuttering tie MIDLAND BRIGHT GROUP Ltd 12 Oct 1972 [28 Aug 1971] 40447/71 Heading E1S [Also in Division F2] A tie for concrete wall shuttering camprises a rod having screw-threaded constant diameter end portions 10, 11 of respectively different diameter interconnected by a tapered portion 12, the smaller diameter portion 11 having a reduced diameter spigot 11a on its end. The screw-threaded end portions 10, 11 are engageable with nuts 16, 17 bearing against or secured to the outer sides of the shuttering. As shown, the nuts 16, 17 are rotatably captively mounted on respective plates 15 securable to the walings 18, 19. The tapered form of the tie allows it to be removed from the set concrete by removing the nut 17, tightening the nut 16 and hammering the spigot 11a.
