Abstract

1415799 Flexible magnetic recording discs ARVIN INDUSTRIES INC 1 Feb 1973 [7 Feb 1972] 5183/73 Heading B2E A flexible magnetic recording disc comprises a flexible base having a coating which includes randomly oriented acicular magnetically anisotropic particles. A method of making the discs comprises coating a web 11 of a flexible non-magnetic base material with randomly oriented particles 15 in a liquid binder 17, hardening the binder in a drier 21 and die cutting the coated web 23 with diecutting apparatus 25. The particles are preferably acicular ferro-magnetic material.
