Abstract

1415614 Injection moulding apparatus SCHLOEMANN-SIEMAG AG 18 April 1974 [21 April 1973] 16973/74 Heading B5A Injection moulding apparatus comprises a hot-channel distributer 5 provided with one inlet channel 6 and a plurality of outlet channels 3 which are spaced apart from one another and which are each closable by a respective piston 11 displaceable transversely to the associated channel. In the open position a groove 12 in the piston is aligned with the channel. Alternatively the groove may be replaced by a bore extending through the piston. As shown a single injector 7 supplies two moulds 1, 2 and the pistons 11 in the channels leading to one mould 1 are coupled by a piston rod 13 which is movable by a drive 14. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) a similar piston valve (25) is provided adjacent the injector unit 7. The injector unit may also have its own cut-off valve.
