Abstract

1415582 Valves SOC POUR LE DEVELOPPEMENT DE LA RECHERCHE APPLIQUEE 3 July 1973 31703/73 Heading F2V A valve has an obturator sleeve 3 which is formed with a conical end face 6c co-operating with a conical seat 1a and is movable on energization of an electro-magnetic valve 16 by fluid pressure communicated from a pressure source connected at 22 to a chamber 9 and acting on a piston 4. Piston 4 is slidable on a fixed guide rod 5 and is connected to the sleeve 3 with lost-motion by abutment with shoulders 3a, 3b formed on the sleeve. The sleeve slides on fixed guide pieces 6, 7. Chamber 11 is continuously connected to the pressure source via duct 12 and the pressure in chamber 11 acts on the piston 4 as soon as the seal 21 moves away from the conical end face of the guide piece 6 to accelerate the valve to open position. Chamber 9 is connected to exhaust at 25 via duct 10 and chamber 13 is connected to a pressure source of predetermined value at 23 via ducts 14 so that the valve starts to close as soon as the pressure in chamber 13 becomes greater than that in chamber 9.
