Abstract

1414526 Injection moulding FLOGATES Ltd 25 Feb 1974 [14 March 1973] 12365/73 Heading B5A An inner nozzle 32 is fixed in position in the well area 31 of a bottom pour ladle by supporting the nozzle in the well area and injecting refractory cement into an annular space 40 surrounding the nozzle 32, the ends of the annular space being closed. The nozzle 32 is supported on a flange 15 on a tubular member 10, which flange closes the lower end of the space 40 during injection. The upper end of the space 40 is closed by a frusto-conical flange 20 on an end plate 11. The parts are held in position by a collar 26 bearing on an end plate 12 and carried by a threaded portion of a rod 13 to which the plate 11 is welded. The refractory cement is injected by a hand pump or by hydraulic or pneumatic pressure through a hole 16, uniform distrubtion of the cement being assisted if desired by using a tommy bar 29 to rotate the rod 13, tube 10 and nozzle 32.
