Abstract

1413091 Fluid pressure switch EUROPE MFG TRUST REG 17 May 1973 [18 May 1972] 23567/73 Heading H1N In a diaphragm type fluid-pressure switch in which the forces derived from a diaphragm 3 to which is attached a rigid plate 4 is transmitted via the extension 5 to a pressure piece 8 and thence by projections 13 on arms 9 (one shown) to a plurality of independently settable contact systems the pressure piece 8 is pivotally seated for free movement on the end 6 of the extension 5 by means of co-operating shapes engaging within the recess 7, and the projection 13 on each arm has a pointed nose portion which slidably abuts on the upper side of a contact system blade 12 for the application of the operating force required to close the contacts 15, 16 and a further pointed portion of rectangular section (22, 21 of Fig. 3, not shown) which engages within a slot 14 in the blade with minimal clearance in the direction of the major axis of the blade to ensure the application of constant leverage to each contact system and with substantial clearance transversely to the axis to permit the relative movement and rocking which arises during their independent operation. Fig. 2 (not shown) illustrates an arrangement for two contact systems but the invention can be applied to a greater number which are symmetrically arranged about the rotational axis of the pressure piece.
