Abstract
1412890 Magnetic powders GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 23 Feb 1973 [24 Feb 1972] 8950/73 Heading C1A [Also in Division B1] A slurry of magnetic powder is dried to form agglomerates in which the particles are magnetically aligned by spraying the slurry from 2 upwardly through magnetic fields formed by electromagnets 4 and 5 whilst hot gas from 6 passes down through chamber 1. The magnetic powder may comprise barium or strontium ferrite, e.g. BaFe 12 O 19 , cobalt rare earth or alnico powder. The formed agglomerates may then be pressed in an A.C./D.C. field to form magnets.
