Abstract

1412693 Pneumatic conveyers VACU BLAST Ltd 5 March 1974 [23 March 1973] 14234/73 Heading B8A Granular material is raised by apparatus comprising an inner tube and an outer tube with means in the outer tube adjacent the mouth of the inner tube for restricting fluid flow between the tubes. In the Figure suction is applied to tube 3 inducing a flow of air downwards between tubes 3 and 4, the velocity of flow increasing at the mouth of tube 3 due to restrictor 2, and the air picking up granular material from a mass thereof in which the tubes are inserted as the air passed into tube 3. Alternative embodiments provide restrictors of different shapes, or arrangements using pressurized air rather than suction.
