1412385 Radio receiving apparatus SABA SCHWARZWAELDER APPARATE - BAUANSTALT AUGUST SCHWER SOEHNE GmbH 9 Jan 1974 [24 Jan 1973] 1068/74 Heading H3Q A selection filter for two different frequency ranges as used between an HF preamplifier stage 1 and a mixer stage 2 of a television receiver, and using in each case series connected primary and secondary circuits 4, 6 and 5, 7 respectively for the two ranges, comprises a diode 22 connected in parallel to the first primary circuit 4 for the lower frequency range so that upon operation of the filter in the higher frequency range diode 22 short-circuits the first primary winding by means of a switching voltage Us applied to the diode 22 and is adapted to connect the second primary circuit 6 for the higher frequency range to the output of the preamplifier stage 1, coupling of the signals of the higher frequency range to the mixer stage 2 being capable of taking place via circuit capacitive components 9, 13 in a first secondary circuit 5 of the filter for the lower frequency range, in a way such that the coupling capacity decreases towards the upper band end of the higher frequency range and increases towards the lower. As shown, tuning is by means of varactor diodes 8, 9,10,11 but variable capacitors may be used instead.
