Abstract

1412278 Measuring non-electrically variables electrically: Two-wire telemetry DANFOSS AS 1 Dec 1972 [3 Dec 1971] 55544/72 Headings G1N and G1U In a multiplex electric circuit a number of sensors P 0 P 1 P 2 P 3 are associated with signal generators M 0 M 1 M 2 M 3 which provide current signals on the lines 4, 5, dependent on the values of the parameters being sensed, the lines 4 being connected to one pole of a source SF, and the other line 5 being selectively connected by switches K to the other pole through a load Z, which therefore has developed across it a voltage dependent on the value of the selected sensor. As shown P 0 is a switch, P 1 a temperative sensitive resistor, P 2 a variable capacitance pressure transducer. The switches may be contact switches, or transistors addressed through their bases Fig. 2 (not shown). The transistor switches may be arranged to accommodate a large number of sensors. To permit faster scanning, switching diodes, which allow the current transmitters to remain conducting continuously, may replace the transitors.
