Abstract

1412110 Shaft couplings UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 1 Jan 1973 [31 Dec 1971] 60892/71 Heading F2U Torque can be transmitted between two rotatable members 12, 15 (e.g. of plastics) one, 15 (e.g. the input) having a bore with at least three arcuate recesses 16 each having a corresponding radially extending peg 13 on the other member 12 (e.g. the output integral with a gear) arranged so that when the members 12, 15 are coaxial, all the pegs engage their corresponding recesses, whereas when the axes 11, 17 of the members 12, 15 are parallel; each peg engages its recess in turn (e.g. over the arc B). The coupling may be used in a gas or other meter between the measuring mechanism and the indicating dial.
