1412087 Crystalliser/evaporator STANDARD - MESSO DUISBURG GES FUR CHEMIETECHNIK mbH & CO 31 May 1973 [20 Jan 1973] 26075/73 Heading B1B In multistage crystalliser/evaporator 1, each stage is a geometrical sector defined by radial partitions and has a heat exchanger 5 through which additional solution can be added to that stage through 16, the vapour from initial stage 6 passing via passage 4 to the heat exchanger of the next stage 7, etc, the condensed vapour being collected, vapour from the final stage 9 passing to spray condenser 10, and the passages 4 being arranged about condenser 10, and being formed e.g. by helically arranged plates in tube 4. Crystals formed can be drawn off from tubes 18. Thus salt can be crystallised from brine and spent cellulose liquors can be boiled down.
