Abstract
141,165. Arnold, A. E. March 7, 1919. Contents, delivering.-A coal cabinet &c. is provided with a pivotally-mounted device for withdrawing limited quantities at a time. The coal is introduced by a metal container e, which is placed on an upper door b pivoted at b<1> and adapted to shoot the coal on to an inclined shelf h when the door is closed. A limited quantity of the coal slides into a measuring-device consisting of a cylindrical wall k and an inclined bottom plate j mounted upon a lower door c, the whole being pivoted at c<1>. When the lower door is pulled forwards into the position shown in dotted lines, the coal on the shelf h is prevented from sliding forwards by the wall k and the coal in the measuring-device can be removed by a scoop n. The coal dust collects in a drawer l at the bottom of the cabinet.
