1411548 Measuring angular displacement electrically LUCAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 15 Feb 1973 [2 March 1972] 9691/72 Heading G1N An angular position transducer of a shaft comprises a toothed member driven by the shaft the teeth of which member are sensed so that each tooth of the toothed member gives rise to at least 2 pulses per revolution of the member, and further means for producing at least 1 datum pulse per revolution, a counter for counting the number of pulses produced as a result of movement of the toothed member after a datum pulse, and means operable by each datum pulse to prevent counting of the pulse derived from the toothed member coincident with or immediately following the datum pulse. This count preventing means may comprise a bi-stable which is set by a datum pulse to block a gate through which the other pulses reach the counter, the first of these re-setting the bi-stable.
