Abstract

1409427 Spray nozzles KALTENBACH & VOIGT 17 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 53380/72 Heading B2F [Also in Division A5] A dental handpiece has at least one built-in coolant duct 3 and includes a spray nozzle in the vicinity of a tool-receiving opening 4, the spray nozzle opening into the atmosphere being directed towards a tool 5 placed in the tool-receiving opening, and being constructed as a tubular insert 6 which is releasably inserted in an opening 12. As shown the tubular insert is screwed into the head 2 of the handpiece and has two nozzle passages (8), Fig 2 (not shown); one of the passages extends obliquely of the axis of the tubular insert. The tubular insert includes an external annular groove (10) in which a packing ring (11) is arranged. A key surface (9) in the form of a screw slot facilitates insertion of the tubular insert. The key surface may alternatively take the form of a nut or of key insertion holes. In a modified form the tubular insert has an external spring ring which snaps into an annular groove in the opening 12. In this modified form the key surface is constructed as a radially extending projection.
