Abstract

1409286 Current collectors POLITECHNIKA WARSZAWSKA 13 Dec 1972 [17 Dec 1971] 57559/72 Heading H2E A contact device for supplying electric current to a linearly travelling conductor comprises a yoke 3, pivotable on a pin 2 and carrying a rigid arm 4 and a resilient arm 5. Seatings 6 in these arms engage conical pivots 7, providing bearings and sliding electrical contact for a roller 9 in rolling contact with the travelling conductor. Current is supplied to the arms 4 and 5 via spiral springs 12 which also press the roller 9 against the conductor. Two pairs of contact devices may be used in line, each pair being biased by the springs 12 to press the conductor between opposed rollers 9.
