Abstract

1409134 Bearings NADELLA and A PITNER 25 Jan 1973 [25 Jan 1972] 3830/73 Heading F2A In a rectilinear motion bearing with recirculating rollers 16, the rollers are guided by their planar end surfaces against planar surfaces 21, 22 on the bearing body, and are retained by means having cylindrical elements 24 adapted to engage in cavities in the ends of the rollers, at least part 27 of the retaining means being adapted to engage in cavities 28 in the bearing body adjacent the planar guide surfaces. The retaining means may be in the form of shackles 23. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5), adjacent rollers are separated by small diameter rollers 31 carried by the retaining means 123. In further embodiments (Figs. 6, 7, not shown), the retaining means are constituted by links which form a chain on each side of the row of rollers. Each cylindrical element then engages in a roller cavity through a hole in the adjacent link. The parts of the retaining means may be produced by moulding.
