Abstract

1408803 Cutting and perforating apparatus HEIDELBERGER DRUCKMASCHINEN AG 10 July 1973 [12 July 1972] 32845/73 Heading B4B [Also in Divisions B6 and B8] The impression cylinder 1 of a rotary offset printing machine carries a plate 2 covering the impression surface and a band 11 accommodated in a slot in the plate. The plate and band protect the surface of the cylinder from a cutting or perforating wheel 22. The band is stretched between a clamping block 13 and a rotatable tensioning spindle 18. One surface 14 of block 13 provides an extension of the impression surface of the cylinder 1 so that band 11 extends into the gap 6 of the cylinder at the same level as the impression surface. This ensures that the leading edge of a sheet is cut or perforated. The plate 2 is tensioned about the cylinder between the gripper support 7 and a tensioning spindle.
