Abstract
1408796 Frequency detectors COMPAGNIE INDUSTRIELLE DES TELECOMMUNICATIONS CIT-ALCATEL 15 Dec 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 57937/72 Heading H3A A monitor circuit comprises: two transistors T1, T2 of the same conductivity type with the collector of T1 connected to the base of T2 and an input signal to be monitored connected to the base of T1; time constant circuits RC1, RD1, C1, RC2, RD2, C2 connected to the emittercollector circuits of respective ones of the transistors so that one capacitor charges when the other discharges; and a detector coupled to the two time constant circuits for detecting a change in the rate of repetition of signals applied at the base of T1. When an input signal at point E1 goes positive, T1 conducts discharging C1 and cutting off T2 to charge C2. Conversely when the signal at E1 goes negative C1 charges and C2 discharges. A fall in the pulse rate outside predetermined limits allows C2 time to charge sufficiently to turn on unijunction transistor UST and fire thyristor TH. Relay RR is then actuated to give an indication that an abnormal condition occurs.
