Abstract
1407801 Hydraulic control circuits DOWTY MINING EQUIPMENT Ltd 30 Oct 1972 [28 Oct 1971] 50416/71 Heading F1P [Also in Division F2] An hydraulic control circuit comprises a block 71, Fig.3, to which are clamped valves or other components such as 65-67 which are in communication with ducts in the block. The block 71 has a flat face 91, Fig. 7, provided with ports 101, 103, 104 and these are connected to ports 93, Fig.6 in the face 86 of a block 87, which is clamped to the block 71, by slots 99, 102, 105, Fig.8, in a gasket 89 which is located between the blocks 71, 87. The block 87 is connected to a remote control valve 34, Fig.5, by a plurality of hydraulic lines 96. So that the gasket is not weakened by long slots, these are split into short sections 105, Fig.8, separated by portions 106 of the gasket. Adjacent ends of these short slots are connected to one another by dimples 107 in the surface 86, Fig.6. Sealing material 108 is provided round the slots, as described in U.K. Specification 1051747, and sealing strips 111 may be provided elsewhere on the gasket. Fig.10 illustrates a pilot valve which has a flat face 113 for engaging the surface 75 of the block 71. A valve-member 119 is biased by a spring 124 to close a pressure inlet 114 from an outlet 117 and to connect a return port thereto by lifting a valve-member 121 off a seat 123. When pressure is applied through a pilot port 116 a piston 118 is forced downwards and the valve-members 119, 121 are moved to their open and closed positions respectively. Fig.11 shows one of valves 17-19, Fig.3, and has pressure and return ports 127, 128, pilot ports 129, 131 and an outlet port 132. Pressure in pilot port 129 opens a valve 135 by depressing a piston 133 and a valve 136 is similarly operated by pilot port 131. A pressure relief valve 139 returns fluid to return port 128. A circuit is described, Fig.2, (not shown) for the control of a longwall mining machine in which roof-supports, conveyers and cutters are sequentially advanced towards the coal-face. having roof-support has a selector valve 34, Fig.5 having five positions selected by rotating a handle 35 which may also be depressed to provide a pressure pulse to initiate the selected sequence of operations.
