Abstract

1406232 Reels TYPOMASTER Ltd 11 Sept 1972 [15 June 1971] 27997/71 Heading B8M Part B A dispenser for chart symbols comprises a plastics, metal or cardboard container 10A enclosing a roll of release-agent coated tape 11 carrying spaced symbols 17A, die-punched from sheet material and having a pressure sensitive adhesive backing, adhering to the inwardly facing release coating, and a wall slit 13A through which the tape is pulled and doubled back over the slit edge through a passage 14A, the symbols peeling off the tape as it doubles back to lie on facing up on the shelf 18A. In another embodiment the slit and passage are on a top wall which itself provides the shelf on which the symbols lie facing downwards. The symbols may be removed from the shelf by finger or a golf-club-like tool (Fig. 4, not shown). Roll 11 is formed by dye-stamping the symbols on stock plastics adhesive tape fed on top of stock paper tape, the plastics tape then being removed to leave the symbols on the rearward paper tape.
