Abstract

1405463 Retractive switches; resistance motor controllers LUCERNE PRODUCTS Inc 3 Aug 1972 [10 Aug 1971] 36320/72 Headings H1N and HIS A trigger-operated speed control switch, for a hand-operated power tool, for example, comprises a trigger 13 and a casing 28 constituted by coacting sections 32 and 32a, each section. mounting a group of stationary contacts, 48, 48a and 52, 52a, 52b, respectively, for example, co-operating with contacts 62 movable by the trigger 13; at least one of said sections being made of ceramic material and having seed control circuit components printed thereon in circuit with other components and said groups of contacts. As shown a double-pole switch functions as in Specification 1,261,244 but the casing section 32 (carrying the fixed contacts 52, 52a, 52b) is made of ceramic and has printed thereon resistance strips 68, 68a for co-operation with a slider 65 carried on casing section 32a made of a plastics material. A recess in section 32 may be silver coated to form a heat sink for an SCR 80. The resistance strips may be baked ink with a Ruthenium, carbon or silver-paladium base.
