Abstract

1405168 Active filters ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 23 Nov 1972 [27 March 1972] 54250/72 Heading H3U A Hilbert transformation arrangement for transforming an input signal x(t) and providing the transformed signal as in-phase and quadrature components Y 1 (j#), Y 2 (j#) comprises: a first channel 11 including indentical filters H(j#) for transforming the input signal, multipliers 27, 28 for shifting the signals through the filters up and down in frequency respectively by the same amounts # 5 , and means 29 for adding the two shifted signals to provide the in-phase signal; and a second channel 12 comprising similar filters, multipliers 19a, 20a which also produce a 90 degree phase shift, and a difference circuit 21 to provide the quadrature signal. As described ,the filters H(j#) are lowpass filters, and the input signals are first shifted down in frequency by input frequency changers 25, 26, 15a, 16a. The lowpass filters may be simple LC sections or their digital equivalent, Fig. 5 (not shown).
