Abstract
1404864 Producing bubbles in a liquid SCHRAMM INC 15 Dec 1972 58200/72 Heading B1C Apparatus for releasing air bubbles into a body of liquid consists of a distributing conductor of large hose sections 18, 20 and 22 and a bubbling hose of sections 40, 42 and 44. The sections are joined together by "H" fittings 32, 34, 36, 38. Fig 5 shows a cross-section of the conduits; the bubbling hose consists of three passages 74, 76, 78 with passage 76 having an opening 80 to allow the escape of air to produce bubbles. The conduits may be weighted, particularly with lead, to aid their retention in a body of liquid. Fig 10 shows an "H" section with a restriction passage 104. This reduces a high pressure in the disrtibuting conductor from supply compressor 12 and the frequency of the "H" sections ensures that air within the bubbling hose is maintained at a substantially uniform pressure throughout its length. Fig 14 shows a further arrangement of restrictions which is easily adjustable by screwing of stems 214. Other restriction arrangements are shown. The assembly of conductor and hose, is flexible so that it can be wound onto spools.
