Abstract

1404852 Drop bottom container T B PEARSON & SONS (ENGS) Ltd 11 May 1973 [11 Feb 1972] 6395/72 Heading B8H A drop bottom container has an open material receiving top and a pair of drop bottoms 16 pivotally mounted on respective opposed sides of the container about axes disposed about the lower edges of the sides. One of the bottoms has a lip 17 to overlap the other bottom in the closed position thereof and has a pin 18 for releasible engagement by a hook 9 on an arm 8. The arm is connected by arms 12 to an actuating rod 13 and is locked in the pine ngaging position by a further pin (not shown) passing through an operative therein and an operative in a bracket secured to a side wall. The container has corner connections 5 for the attachment of a sling and has channels 20 to receive the forks of a lift truck.
