Abstract
1404617 Bucket excavators R SENGO 27 Nov 1972 [2 Dec 1971] 54790/72 Heading E1F [Also in Division G1] An excavator is provided with a buried metal detector comprising a transmitter and a receiver comprising three mutually perpendicular antennae 3, 4, 5 mounted on a bucket arm 2 of the excavator. Thus during excavation a buried metal object, such as a pipe, is detected before being damaged, and the receiver may be connected to stop the excavator upon detecting a signal above a given level.
