Abstract

1404565 Biological purification of sewage AKVADAN AS 5 July 1973 [5 July 1972] 32132/73 Heading C1C Sewage is purified biologically in a three tank system in which at least two sequentially serve as a feeding tank and at least one as a clarification tank, and wherein the sewage at any time is being treated aerobically (by aeration) and is simultaneously circulated, characterized in that a tank, when used as a feeding tank, has for at least part of this period sewage circulated anaerobically and the tank is indirectly connected during at least part of this period to a tank serving as a clarification tank; aerobic conditions are established in a tank after each anaerobic treatment therein and before it is used as a clarification tank or as a connecting tank. Three different variations of the process are exemplified in the Figures.
