Abstract

1403964 Two-part couplings MOLEX Inc 25 Oct 1973 [16 Nov 1972] 49768/73 Heading H2E [Also in Division H5] A socket for an electric cooker element comprises a phenolic block 22 having two passageways 30 containing similar contacts 42. Each contact comprises a base 44 with upstanding flanges 48 which meet at a contact region 54 and diverge to extremities 58 which lodge against forward stops 36. Lances 60 struck from flanges 48 engage rearward stops 38. Projections 40 on block 22 engage apertures 74 in a bracket 68 which has a tab 92 and apertures 88 for screws for mounting the socket in a cooker. Forward extensions 76 of the bracket have inwardly struck tabs 84 to engage a metallic plate 16 supporting the ends of the cooker element for mechanical support and earthing. The inclined front face 28 of the socket permits the element to be pivoted upwards for cleaning.
