Abstract

140,321. Bromley, H. G., and Herring- ton, E. G. Sept. 12, 1919. Heating by electricity.-In electrically-heated choke-tubes for carburettors, the outside of the choke-tube is turned concave and a high-resistance wire wound thereon, mica or other insulation being used and packed tightly between the coils to prevent vibration. A sleeve is then placed over the choke-tube and its heating-coil, to prevent contact therewith of petrol &c. and obviate risk of explosion. The choke-tube is secured by two screws which may serve as contacts.
