Abstract

1402864 Stud and socket fastenings FLEXELLO CASTORS & WHEELS Ltd 27 Oct 1972 [29 Oct 1971 3 March 1972] 50508/71 and 10074/72 Heading E2B [Also in Division B4] An adaptor for fastening to a freight container bracket comprises a plate member 10 and an upstanding boss 22' for insertion in an aperture in the bracket, the boss having a hole 24' therethrough and inclined to the axis of the boss to receive a threaded bolt 26'. One surface of a tapered end portion 46 of the bolt and of a supporting retainer 78 of the bolt abuts the bracket firmly when the bolt is tightened the bolt then lying completely within the bracket. The plate member is rectangular with corner portions of reduced thickness and with holes for bolts for securing to a castor plate 72. The plate member 10 has a central aperture 57 which has lateral stepped portions 58, 59, 60 providing an abutment for one arm of a tool, another arm of which abuts the bottom of a side aperture in the bracket to raise the boss into the bracket. Tow bars having an end projection may be secured to the brackets by inserting the end portions into elongated slots in the brackets and turning to secure them.
