Abstract

1,163,692. Anchoring bolts. DEUTSCH FASTENER CORP. 8 Jan., 1968 [30 March, 1967; 11 Aug., 1967], No. 1011/68. Heading F2H. [Also in Division H2] An anchoring bolt comprises a member 10 having a head 11, and a threaded shank 13, suitable for receiving electrical connections, and an intermediate portion 12 that engages and extends through a suitable hole in a plate to which the bolt is fitted, the portion that projects through having a part 18 adapted to be bent outwards to form a flange, securing the bolt by clamping the plate between head and flange. The intermediate portion 12 may be tapered, and/or may be fitted with straight knurles about its circumference to bite into the plate and prevent rotation when subsequent connections are made to the shank. A second plate can be used flush with the main plate, into which the knurles bite to prevent damage to the main plate.
