Abstract
1402767 Magnetic separators RAPID MAGNETIC LTD 26 July 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 36261/72 Heading B2J A magnetic separator comprises an annular shell constituted by concentric plates 1, 2 between which is located a series of grids each in the form of an array of parallel bars 8. e.g. of magnetisable stainless steel, .triangular in cross-section (Fig 3, not shown) and inclined at an acute angle to the vertical, each bar having one side face uppermost. The shell is mounted so that it can rotate about a vertical axis between magnets 6, 7 which may be of the permanent or electro-magnetic type. Material, e.g. slurry, from which magnetic particles are to be separated is fed downwardly between the plates 1, 2 to pass through the bars 8 which are inclined at an acute angle to the vertical.
