1402405 Resistor composition BECKMAN INSTRUMENTS Inc 19 Nov 1973 [27 Dec 1972] 53568/73 Heading C1M [Also in Division H1 A resistance material consists of 5-60% by weight of one or more of the metals Ru, Ir, Au, Pt, Rh, Pd, Os and Ag; 5-75% of at least one crystallizable glass; and 5-85% of at least one non-crystallizable glass. The material may be applied as a paste to a ceramic substrate and fired thereon. Examples of crystallizable glasses include (in weight per cent) : (a) PbO 14, B 2 O 3 6À8, Li 2 O 5À6, Al 2 O 3 19À3, SiO 2 51À2, and TiO 2 3À1; (b) PbO 20À5, B 2 O 3 4À7, Li 2 O 4À5, Al 2 O 3 15À8, SiO 2 41À8, TiO 2 2À6, ZrO 2 2À0, Fe 2 O 3 5À0, CaO 1À8 and MgO 1À3; (c) SiO 2 25À5, Al 2 O 3 15À8, TiO 2 11À3, PbO 30À2, BaO 7À7 and ZnO 9À5; (d) Al 2 O 3 15, Li 2 O 4À5, SiO 2 42, TiO 2 3, BaO 23, Na 2 O 3À5 and B 2 O 3 9; and (e) Al 2 O 3 15, Li 2 O 4À5, SiO 2 42, TiO 2 3, Na 2 O 5À3, B 2 O 3 9, SrO 16, CaO 4, and ZrO 2 1À2. A non-crystallizable glass that may be used is Na 2 O 4À3, Al 2 O 3 4À1, B 2 O 3 15À4, SiO 2 52À3, CaO 5À4, SrO 17À3 and ZrO 2 1À2.
