Abstract

140,221. Stott, A. April 2, 1919. Glazing. - In glazing- bars of the kind which have side wings adapted to be pressed down on the glass, the wings 7 are joined at their outer ends to the inner edges of flanges 5 provided with three ribs 6 adapted to be pressed down on the glass. The sheath 2 of the glazing-bar, to which the wings 7 are joined, is provided with troughs 3 filled with asbestos packing. The glazing-bar 1 may be inverted and partly sheathed; or a wood glazing-bar may be used, with a lead portion supported thereon, asbestos or white lead or other packing being used between the glass and lead portion. The wing-pieces are thickened where they are joined to the main portion, to obviate fracture when bending.
