Abstract

1402104 Self-processing film units POLAROID CORP 20 Sept 1972 [27 Sept 1971] 43612/72 Heading G2X In a self-processing film unit the trap element 20 for retaining excess processing liquid is formed as a spacer, and is coated or impregnated with an acid for neutralizing the strongly alkaline processing liquid. A number of suitable acids are suggested, but citric acid is preferred. The element 20 is enclosed and held by binding 32 at the trailing end of the unit, Fig.1. It is formed of a fibrous sheet material such as an absorbent paper board, about .01 inch in thickness, and may be perforated, as in Fig.4, or comb-shaped, as in Fig.5.
