Abstract

1400200 Nickel alloys; electro-depositing nickel XEROX CORP 12 Sept 1972 [15 Sept 1971] 42324/72 Headings C7A and C7B A nickel composition, for use as anode material in the electrolytic production of nickel, consists apart from impurities of nickel with a total of 2- 75 wt per cent of selenium and/or tellurium dispersed uniformly therethrough. The composition can be prepared by melting nickel with an amount of nickel substrate-selenium photoreceptors. The electrolysis may be carried out using a bath containing nickel salt, such as the chloride, sulphate or sulphamate with a nickel ion content at least 25 grams per litre, and having a pH below 5. The bath temperature may be 40- 80‹C, and the current density about 300 amps per square foot.
