Abstract

1399933 Oyster culture R GEORGE 27 July 1973 [8 Aug 1972] 36873/72 Heading A1A A holding assemblage for off-bottom culture of oysters and analogous shell fish has a spine 10 upon which are individually mounted trays 11 with spavers 12. A removable mesh curtain 16 is wrapped around the trays and secured by hooks 17 and eyes 18. The'spine may be fitted to a weight base 13 and the assemblage may be suspended from a buoy by a rope 14 or from an eye, (15a) Fig 4 (not shown,) screwed into the upper end of the spine. Alternatively the spine may be supported off the bottom by a fixture from below resting on the bottom. The trays may be either solid and impervious or of meticulated form and may be centrally apertured discs which can be spun round for cleaning and inspection of stock. Spacers may be separate or integral with the trays and the assemblage is designed for easy packaging. The fastening elements 17 and 18 may be attached to marginal stiffeners 19.
