1399887 Controlling collagen synthesis D J PROCKOP 31 May 1972 [10 June 1971] 25484/72 Heading A5B Compositions for the control of the cellular synthesis of collagen in animals comprise an active ingredient selected from L-azetidine2-2 carboxylic acid, cis-4-hydroxy-L-proline, 3, 4- dehydro-L-proline, 2, 6-diamino-4-hexenoic acid, allo-5-fiuorohydroxy-L-lysine, allo-5- hydroxy-L-lysine and the laevo and cis isomers of compounds of the general structural formula Wherein R is OH, Cl, F, NH 2 , CH 3 , OC(O)CH 3 , OC(O)CN 2 CH 3 , SH, SOH3, OCH 3 , ONO 2 , OSO 3 H, H 2 PO 4 or COOH and a liquid or solid pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. The compositions may be administered orally, parenterally or locally in the form of tablets, powders, capsules, suspensions, solutions or emulsions.
