Abstract

1399275 Determination of glutamic pyruvic transaminase TECHNICON INSTRUMENTS CORP 19 July 1972 [20 July 1971] 33826/72 Heading G1B A lyophilized reagent composition for use in the determination of the glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) content of a sample comprises lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), reduced nicotinamide adenine dinuclestide (NADH) or its phosphate (NADHP), and potassium phosphate or a mixture thereof with sodium phosphate as buffer precursor. The composition may also contain bovine albumen. In use a sample is mixed with a substrate for GPT comprising an alanine-α- ketoglutanic acid mixture, the reconstituted reagent added and the change in optical density measured at 340 nm.
