Abstract

1398990 Terminal blocks CGEE-ALSTHOM 4 July 1972 [5 July 1971 3 Feb 1972] 31305/72 Heading H2E Terminal blocks which may be stacked side by side on a support (such as rail) to form a terminal assembly, each comprise an insulating body 1 housing contacts (not shown) adapted to be releasably fastened to a securing foot 2 which is securable to the support. The body 1 is formed with a cavity 23, two snap-in studs 20, 211 and an aligning stud 18 while each foot 2 has a base 4 of slope complementary to the cavity 23 and apertures 19, 22, 22<SP>1</SP> for receiving the studs. The foot has projections forming lugs 5, 6 (lug 6 being resilient) adapted to engage the edges of a support rail (3). Lugs of various shapes are illustrated (Figs. 2-4, not shown) for different shaped rails. The foot projections (30, 40, Figs. 8-11, not shown) may extend normally from the base, and the feet be fastened to the end blocks of an assembly with the projections extending either outwardly of the assembly or inwardly beneath the blocks; holes (52) in the projections enable the feet to be secured to a wall (3).
