Abstract

1398590 Coiling thread packages EDDYBEL SA 19 Dec 1972 [20 Dec 1971 17 Aug 1972 22 Sept 1972] 58616/72 Heading D1F Yarn is fed from the nip formed by a roller rolling around a circular track through a hole in a plate, rotating with the roller about the track axis, to be deposited as a coiled yarn package. Package P is formed, Fig. 3, by feeding yarn F through hole 29 in plate 21 which rotates with shaft 19 about axis A and deposits the yarn in successive circular layers of loops on base plate 7 which rotates about axis B. Plate 7 supports the package on a resilient layer. The packageabutting under surface of plate 21 is polished or coated with low-friction material. Yarn-feed roller 25 is carried round by rotating shaft 19 on arms 23, 24, and is spring-urged against stationary circular track 28 centred on axis A. The rolling of roller 25 feeds yarn 25 which always passes between the track and the roller. Alternatively, Fig. 5, circular base plate 107 centred on axic B does on rotate, and yarndepositing plate 21 has a planetary motion. Plate 21 is rotated on shaft 19 about axis A, the shaft being supported by member 43 on a ring 40 rotating about axis B. Feed roller 25 rolls on a circular track 28 centred on axis A and formed in the rotating ring 40. Plate 107 forms the base of package can 33 and is biased by spring 32. The yarn-feed roller, Fig 7, may roll on an external cylindrical track 228 or, Fig. 9, the roller is tapered, rotates about a horizontal axis, and rolls on inclined circular surface 328.
