Abstract
1398154 Measuring temperature electrically MATERIEL ELECTRIQUE DE CONTROLE ET INDUSTRIEL 31 July 1972 [30 July 1971] 35737/72 Heading G1D A probe comprising an exposed measuring head intended to be dipped into a bath of molten metal and leads extending rearwards from the head to transmit the measurement signal, includes a sleeve comprising refractory fibres extending rearwards from the head to protect the leads. The sleeve may be formed of adhesively joined layers (6) surrounding the end of a cardboard tube (1) in which the head is held, the exposed end of the tube being protected by a refractory fibre ring (7) Fig. 1 (not shown). A wound sleeve 8 hardened to form a rigid tube, may accommodate the head 3 and fit over a cardboard tube (not shown). The sleeve 12 may have a flange 12a protecting the end of a cardboard tube 13 which it may surround with clearance to accommodate heat shrinkage.
