Abstract

1397934 Edge-runner mills FOSTER WHEELER CORP 20 June 1972 [28 April 1972] 28882/72 Heading B2A The rollers 26 of an edge runner mill 10 are mounted on shafts 42 Fig 2 fixed to a centre preferably annular yoke 44 formed with a central opening. The shafts 42 extend radially outwardly from the yoke, which is itself supported by the rollers. The outer end of each shaft 42 includes a keyed revesible bearing block 66 cooperating with a bearing surface 80 in each roller 26. The yoke section 44 is supported by members 46 Fig 3 which are integrally formed with a ring plate 48, and the shafts 42 are received in bores 50 and welded at 52 and further supported by gusset plates 54. Pressure is applied to the rollers by springs 36 and a thrust ring 34 Fig 1 formed with an annular lip 38 which cooperates with a groove 32 in each roller. The grinding table 20 is rotatably driven by a motor (not shown).
