Abstract

1397556 Charge dispensers NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 24 Nov 1972 [27 Aug 1971 16 Feb 1972 1 March 1972] 40281/71 7054/72 and 9515/72 Heading G4T In a ticket issuing system for use on public transport vehicles, change dispensers (e.g. of the type disclosed in Specification 1,397,557, switches corresponding to values of tickets required and switches corresponding to values of cash tendered are interconnected in the manner shown, so that the correct change is dispensed. If, for example, a 3 p. ticket is required and 10 p. is tendered, switches 3 and 10 of the middle and lower panels shown will be closed to energize the centre and right dispensers, whereby a 2 p. piece and a 5 p. piece are dispensed as change. The switches may be push-button operated by the driver of the vehicle. The ticket value switches may operate ticket dispensers of the type disclosed in 1,303,651. A device for permitting visual inspection of coins tendered and of the type disclosed in Specification 1,397,558 may be provided. The cash tendered switches may be operated by coinsensing devices instead of by the driver. A record of the number of passengers boarding and alighting, the number of tickets issued, the payments made and the respective fare stages may be made on a multi-track magnetic tape.
