Abstract

1396636 Double-pivoting connector SOC COMMERCIALE DU COMPTOIR DES INVENTIONS PRATIQUES POUR L' AUTOMOBILE 20 Sept 1973 [4 Oct 1972] 44141/73 Heading E2F A connector A for joining a cylindrical rod and a plate is formed by open strap 1 of resilient material having a passage 2 for receiving the rod, the two arms 3, 4 of the strap forming flat portions 5, 6 situated in a plate parallel to the rod-receiving axis X-X and each bearing, on either side of the gap 7 between the arms, one half 8 or 9 of a circular knob adapted to be received in a circular aperture in the plate. A groove 10, at least the thickness of the plate, is formed between flat portions and the head of the knob. The connector may be used for joining a rear-view mirror-suporting rod (11), Figs 2, 3 (not shown) either to a casing (12) for the mirror or a plinth (16) to be mounted on a vehicle.
